Swedish massage

is the most common known type of massage which uses massage oil on the skin with a variety of massage strokes from gentle and soothing to warm up the muscles and release tensions to more vigorous and deep strokes to break up adhesions. Swedish massage promotes relaxation, among other health benefits.

Deep tissue

massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue which uses deeper massage strokes to create compression and friction along the muscle grain causing muscle fibres to unstick and release toxins and tension points. To assist in pain tolerance, breath technique, movement and guidance are synergised allow the muscles to loosen and increase blood flow to the areas. The benefits improve chronic pain muscular pain, sports injuries and emotional release that has been stored in the body. Post treatment it is advisable to drink plenty of water to help eliminate released toxins. It is also normal that you may experience muscle soreness for up to 3 days.

Trigger point therapy

uses compression techniques to an active trigger point that refers pain. Upon identifying trigger points and releasing them through compression techniques, the range of motion and length of the muscle is increased. Often this type of therapy also includes stretching the muscle using combinations of stretches including proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF).

Sports massage

is tailored to the individual sporting injuries or ailments which are not a relaxation form of massage and consist of vigorous movements to prevent, relieve and reduce stress or tension built up in soft tissue. Sports massage is beneficial to anyone that exercises, even for those that exercise mildly. Sports massage can be performed before, during or after exercise using techniques to increase muscular endurance, performance and minimise risk of injury and reduce recovery time between exercises, helping you train more efficiently.
